Just 3 days after one of the most boring games of the season, RSL faces DC United again. This time, however, much more will be at stake for RSL, or at least that's what I hope. RSL played a rather lethargic game on Wednesday at RFK, looking more like a training session than an actual game. This Saturday, however, their 5 game winning streak will be on the line. JK stated in the papers that he is sure that Saturday will be a much more attractive game. By simply adding more bodies in the stands the level of play will increase. Add to that that RSL will be using its "big guns" from the start, it should be a better game. All that said, I am not too confident in the boys getting a win. In our last couple of games we have shown weaknesses and with all the injuries pilling up, we are bound to come crashing back to earth sooner than later. I dont think, however, that DC, even at home with their confidence rising, can beat this injuried depleted RSL side. I think we will see the second draw of the season for RSL, and one I would be happy to take at this point.
Here is how I expect to see RSL come out for this one:
GK: Nicky Rimando
LB: Tony Beltran
CB: Jamison Olave
CB: Nat Borchers
RB: Chris Wingert if healthy, or Robbie Russell
LM: Will Johnson
CDM: Jean Alexandre
CAM: Javier Morales
RM: Andy Williams if healthy, or Ned Grabavoy
FW: Fabian Espindola
FW: Alvaro Saborio
Bench: Reynish, Wingert/Russell, McKenzie, Grabavoy/Williams, Gil, Warner, Campos
Prediction:
RSL 2 DCU 2
- Sabo and Johnson with the RSL goals
I really think a draw will be a just result. I expect RSL to strike first then DC twice, then RSL still some points in the last 10-15 minutes.
Cheers,
15 to 32
